TRICYCLE DRIVER DIES IN A VEHICULAR COLLISION IN BUTUAN CITY

BUTUAN CITY – A collision between a tricycle and a motorbike killed the tricycle driver identified as Romel Tadifa, 61 years old, happened along South Montilla Boulevard at past 7 A.M on February 27, Thursday.
Ryan Rocero, a dispatcher driver of badja who witnessed the incident, said the Sniper motorcycle was traveling fast along the boulevard driven by a 23-year old Criminology graduate named Mark Kevin Mercado, resident of Mandacpan, Brgy. San Vicente.
Based on the investigation, while the two vehicles were in the same direction, the tricycle tried to turn right when it crashed into the Sniper and overturned following the collision.
In light of the incident, policemen are reminding the drivers to always be responsible while driving.
An ongoing negotiation for settlement between the families involved is at work.
Mercado will face charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide in case the bereaved family will not settle.
