SEVERAL TREASURERS’ OFFICE BUTUAN EMPLOYEES HAVE REQUESTED FOR TEMPORARY BREAK FROM WORK

BUTUAN CITY - In the fear of getting infected with the COVID-19 virus, the staff of the Treasurer’s Office of Butuan has requested a temporary suspension of work.
According to the City Public Information Office, approximately 25 employees from the said department have been tested positive for the coronavirus.
However, in an interview with the spokesperson of Butuan City LGU Michiko De Jesus, the operation of the Treasurer’s Office can’t be postponed because many transactions would be affected.
“Naga-skeleton workforce man ta kay aduna naman poy nag-negative. Dili man gud pud pwede nga i-close nato tanan kay ang atong mga transaction, atong mga operation maglisod na, dili na nato maserbisyohan atong mga constituents,” said the spokesperson.
(We are implementing the skeleton workforce arrangement since some have tested negative. We can’t close it because of all the transactions; the operation would be in disarray. We can’t serve all our constituents.)
Because of this, the Treasurer’s Office implemented some safety measures such as placing plastic borders in every table and requiring all staff to wear face mask and face shield.
Additionally, employees are not allowed to eat together. They should take their food at their respective station.
There are also boundaries set-up in between departments.
Meanwhile, the employees who tested positive are asymptomatic and are currently undergoing quarantine.
