Service contracting, free ride set to reimplement

CARAGA - Service contracting and free rides for the health and essential workers are scheduled to return under the program of DOTR-LTFRB.
According to DOTR Assistance Secretary for Road Transport and Infrastructure Mark Steven C. Pastor, they are just waiting for the 3-billion budget under General Appropriation Act to continue the said program.
The three billion will be divided among all regions of the country, including Caraga.
The government will pay for the jeep and bus for every kilometer regardless of whether or not there is a passenger.
Health workers and authorized persons outside of residence (APOR) will benefit from this because they will be able to save money on their expenses.
To recall, the service contracting and free ride were suspended on June 30 after the Bayanihan 2 law expired.
