QUARANTINE CONTROL POINTS IN BUTUAN CITY REMAIN

BUTUAN CITY – Quarantine control points in the city will remain. This was confirmed by the spokesperson of Butuan City Police Office Police Lieutenant Abel Bulawan in an interview.

PLt. Bulawan said that several policemen continue in manning at every checkpoint, albeit the absence of health workers.

Bulawan.

(There are still control points. Two men stay each checkpoint while other personnel are distributed to barangays under granular lockdown.)

There’s a need to pull-out other policemen to assign in ten barangays with high cases of COVID-19.

According to the spokesperson of Butuan City LGU Michiko De Jesus, it is imperative to designate PNP personnel in hotspot barangays to control the movement of people and secure the proper implementation of health protocols.

(This measure is part of our zoning containment strategy. The implementations are more stringent because the fight is in the city where local transmission is rampant. That is why the policemen are roving around to enforce the use of face mask and quarantine pass to limit the movement of the people and encourage them to stay at home.)

Those who are entering the city’s premises must bring travel authority and negative results of the rapid test.

Meanwhile, there is no target time yet as to when the complete personnel will return to the control points. Authorities are focusing on barangays and puroks in controlling the movements to subside the spread of the coronavirus.
