PEOPLE STILL ATTEMPT TO ENTER BUTUAN CITY IN SPITE CHANCES OF BEING BLOCKED

BUTUAN CITY - Some individuals have been blocked at the city’s boundaries and were not allowed to enter Butuan after the localized community quarantine took effect at midnight on March 20, 2020. The implementation of the community quarantine is an executive order by the city mayor Ronnie Vicente Lagnada.

Under Executive Order 19, which is the local community quarantine of the city of Butuan, there will be no entry by outsiders to the city. Whether by land, sea, or air, no one can enter if the reason isn’t valid. Residents of Butuan meanwhile only need to show ID or other proof of documents to be able to enter the city. The city administrator, Reynante Desiasta, is urging people to understand the situation for the betterment of everyone.

People who were not able to enter the city include a truck driver named Victor Valentine and his companion. They drove from Nasipit, hoping to deliver bananas to Lloreto. Meanwhile, Raquel Amper and her companions, all from San Francisco, Agusan del Sur, were not able to enter the city because they have no identification

They maintain that they know there will be community quarantine for the whole city of Butuan. However, they were against time and traffic that is why there were not able to enter the city before the executive order took effect. Nevertheless, there are still those that can enter the quarantined city.
