NPA LEADER ‘BAE GLO’ ARRESTED IN SURIGAO DEL SUR
BUTUAN CITY – At 11 AM on March 19, Thursday, police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines nabbed the mastermind and leader of the NPA group called ‘Malahutayong Pakigbisog alang sa Sumusunod’ or MAPASU on the strength of a warrant of arrest in Barangay Diatagon, Lianga, Surigao del Sur.
The suspect identified as Gloria Campos Tomalon, alias Bae Glo who based in the abovementioned barangay, is now facing charges for arson, kidnapping, serious illegal detention, and destructive arson without recommending bail.
According to PMaj. Renel Serrano, the spokesperson of the Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13), Tomalon was also involved in the harassment that happened in Sitio Emerald, Brgy. Diatagon on February 21, 2020.
Tomalon was brought to Lianga Municipal Police Station while waiting for the commitment order from the court.
While police are under heightened alert at the checkpoints against COVID-19, the Police Operation Law Enforcement Function of the Philippine National Police (PNP) continues, wherein they capture those who have the standing warrant of arrest issued by the court.
