NEW MULTI-PURPOSE BUILDING IN BUTUAN TO USE AS QUARANTINE AREA FOR PUI OF COVID-19

BAAN KM. 3, BUTUAN CITY – On March 12, Thursday, the City Councilor Committee Chair on Health, Cherry Mae Busa, and the NCOV Task Force of the local government of Butuan conducted an Emergency Meeting discussing the needed preparation for precautionary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
One of the agreements is to use the new multi-purpose building located in a secluded part of Baan Km. 3 as a quarantine or isolation area.
According to May Diez, the spokesperson in LGU-Butuan, the place was chosen because the local government wants to assure the security and safety of the health practitioners and other affected Persons Under Investigation (PUI) of COVID-19, adding that the place has peaceful surrounding and fresh air since it is situated at the center of a farm land.
Diez further said that it is also recommended for the public and private hospitals in Butuan to designate an isolation building.
Meanwhile, if you know a person that has travel history from places with confirmed cases of COVID-19 and showing symptoms of the disease upon arriving in Butuan, follow the First Call Scheme, which is to immediately call the public or private hospitals.
The local government of Butuan endeavors to complete the needed equipment for the comfort of PUIs.
For now, the public activities in the city are still suspended to shun the possible entry of the deadly disease.
