GRADUATION, MOVING UP RITES IN CARAGA MIGHT BE SUSPENDED DUE TO COVID-19 OUTBREAK

BUTUAN CITY – Following the issuance of Proclamation Number 01 Series of 2020 on March 12, Thursday, classes in Agusan del Norte and other neighboring provinces are canceled without an exact time as to when the classes will be back to normal.

In an interview with Pedro Tecson, Information Officer in DepEd Caraga, graduation and moving up rites might forego due to the COVID-19 threat.

Tecson further explained that the graduation ceremonies should happen from April 13 to 17 this year. However, these will be automatically canceled if not pushed through within the said dates.

DepEd Caraga is still studying the appropriate course of action, supposing the graduation will not take place. One approach is just giving the diplomas and certificates to the students.

Nonetheless, according to the agency, the COVID outbreak will not be a reason to just let all the students pass.
