DOH CARAGA BELIES RUMORS OF COVID-19 CONFIRMED CASE IN THE REGION

BUTUAN CITY – Director Jose Llacuna Jr., Department of Health (DOH) Caraga Regional Director, clarifies that the Caraga region remains Coronavirus-free (COVID-19) even amidst the circulating rumor of a patient who allegedly died due to the viral disease in a private hospital in Butuan City.
According to Director Llacuna, the noticeable preventive measures conducted by the said hospital, such as placing the disinfectant section and thermal scanner at the entrance, might have caused the issue.
But the director clarifies that DOH Caraga has issued directives to the hospitals to be prepared, adding that they also give the hospitals the right to develop different strategies to prevent the spread of the virus.
In line with this, the said agency is reminding the public not to disseminate unverified information involving the Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19).
On the latest data from DOH Caraga, the number of Patients under Monitoring (PUM) has reached to 55, wherein 47 PUMs have already accomplished the 14-day quarantine period.
