DEMOLITION IN VILLA KANANGA REMOVES 6 ILLEGAL STRUCTURES

BUTUAN CITY – Six illegal structures knocked down during the demolition conducted by the local government of Butuan in Villa Kananga, Butuan City, on September 16, Wednesday.
According to the spokesperson of LGU Butuan Michiko De Jesus, the area a government-owned where an infrastructure project is to be built.
“... Para kini sa off courage way improvement so dili nato pwede nga matugutan nga dunay mga structures nga lahi ang mabutang dinhaa so ang atong legal basis niini naa sa sa Section 28 sa R.A 7279, “said the spokesperson.
(...This is for the off courage way improvement that is why we can’t allow other structures to be settled there. Our legal basis on this is the R.A 7279 Section 28.)
The spokesperson added that it was only in January this year when they informed the owners of the stores about the plans of an infrastructure project, and they were also notified a week before the demolition to have them prepared. Furthermore, the demolished stores didn’t have business and occupancy permits.
“As far as I know wala man tay giandam nga relocation ani kay usa pa wala man pud silay business permit, so dapat i-agi sa nila sa proseso nga insakto. So mokuha ta ug business permit together ana ang occupancy permit para makita kung ang gitukoran ba sa imong tindahan, sa imong pamalengkehanan adunay insakto nga lugar, insakto nga yuta, insakto nga buidling or structure ang nabutangan sa atong tindahan,” added the spokesperson.
(As far as I know, there is no relocation provided for them because they don’t have a business permit. It should’ve done through the right process, get business permit together with the occupancy permit to show your store is founded in the right place, land, building, or structure.)
