CHINESE NATIONAL PUI INTERCEPTED FOR VIOLATING THE 14-DAY QUARANTINE


BUTUAN CITY – Police forces intercepted a Chinese national who is considered as Person Under Investigation (PUI) after he disregarded the 14-day quarantine measure.


The 28-year-old guy from Shing Zu, China, is now quarantined and strictly monitored by the hospital’s staff in an isolation ward at Butuan Medical Center (BMC).


He reportedly being monitored by the Department of Health due to his travel history to places with confirmed cases of COVID-19.

At around 11 PM on March 18, Wednesday, he was spotted at the Langihan Bus Terminal about to board on a bus going to Surigao City.


No information available yet for his reason for coming to the city. However, the documents he presented showed that he is an agent of a bus company.


While he has displayed no symptoms of the disease, the local government still considers him as PUI to closely observe his condition, given the travel history.


The decision if he will be sent back to China will be decided after accomplishing the 14-day quarantine.
