BUTUAN COPS ASK HELP FROM THE PHILIPPINE ARMY IN SECURING THE CONTROL POINTS IN 2 COVID-19 HOTSPOTS

BUTUAN CITY – The lack of policemen, while several are in isolation after being tested positive of COVID-19, has opted Butuan cops to ask help from the Philippine Army in manning the control points in two COVID-19 hotspots in the city.
The local government of Butuan needs 154 policemen to man the control points in barangays Ambago and Holy Redeemer, where the highest number of COVID-19 cases was recorded. However, because of the insufficient force of the Butuan City Police Office (BCPO), City Mayor Ronnie Vicente Lagnada has sought assistance from the army.
PNP needs 24 soldiers to man the 12 quarantine control points in communities with the most number of cases in Barangay Ambago, with the help of the barangay tanod and Task Force Bantay Butuan personnel.
Another 12 soldiers are needed to man at Barangay Holy Redeemer control points working for two shifts every day.
As of September 7, Butuan City has cumulative 336 positive cases of the Coronavirus, 192 active cases, and 129 discharged, according to the update released by Butuan City PIO.
