BFP BUTUAN REINFORCES THE ISSUANCE OF FIRE SAFETY INSPECTION CERTFICATE TO ESTABLISHMENTS
BUTUAN CITY – Bureau of Fire Protection Butuan conducted a parade followed by a short program at their office to welcome the celebration of Fire Prevention Month on March 2, Monday.
The next day, the agency conducted the national kick-off ceremony of the said activity in Bislig, Agusan del Sur, with this year’s theme, “Matuto Ka, Sunog, Iwasan Na” which aims to remind the public to be more vigilant and stay guarded to avoid the occurrence of fire.
According to FCINSP. Peter Montaus, City fire marshal in BFP Butuan, they are initiating inspection of the establishments within the city in the observance of the Fire Prevention Month.
Based on the report, there are boarding houses in Butuan that were not granted with the Safety Inspection certificate in the 1st quarter of the year.
In line with this, BFP is organizing the Information Education campaign to share tips on how to stay away from fire incidents.
The highest percent of causes of fire are short circuits and unattended lit candles, among others.
