5 POLICE OFFICERS IN BUTUAN POSITIVE FOR COVID-19

BUTUAN CITY – Five (5) police officers tested positive in the swab test, and 30 are rapid test positive in Butuan City Police Office. It is was confirmed by the BCPO Director Police Colonel Canelo Fuentes during a phone patch interview on September 3, Thursday.

The Police Regional Office (PRO 13) has augmented ten (10) cops to fill in. However, PCol. Fuentes admitted police force is still insufficient that resulted in the limited mobile patrol and police visibility. The director plans to strengthen the rapid testing in their unit.

"Mao ni atong gi hangyo sa city government nga at least twice a month unta, kay kani atong mga kapulisan, mga frontliners ni sila noh... Labi na kadtong mga na assign namu nga beat patrollers, kaning atong mga nag checkpoint sa QCP, ” said PCol. Fuentes.

(This is what we are requesting from the city government to have [rapid testing] at least twice a month because our policemen are our frontliners particularly, those who are assigned, as beat patrollers at the checkpoint in QCP.)

PCol. Fuentes is still grateful because those who tested positive in the swab test are asymptomatic.

Those who are rapid test positive are undergoing the 14-day quarantine.

Meanwhile, BCPO heightens the appropriate measures to curve the spread, including mandatory wearing of face mask and face shield upon entering their office.
