3 CORPSES OF MARIHATAG TREASURE HUNTERS LEFT IN THE TUNNEL, RECOVERED

SURIGAO DEL SUR – Authorities recovered the remaining three dead bodies of the treasure hunters buried alive after the tunnel they were digging collapsed in Marihatag, Surigao del Sur last week.

The dead bodies of Angelito Sicup, Leo Reyes, and Menard de Jesus were retrieved last Saturday.

The families of the victims are determined to file a suitcase against the owner of the land because they allowed the operation of the illegal treasure hunting activity that has caused the tragedy.

“Naka-prepare na ang kaso nga reckless imprudence resulting to multiple homicide, physical injury ug violation sa Republic Act Number 10066,” said PCapt. Tumulak.

(The case of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicides, physical injury, and violation to R.A 10066 is in preparation against the landowner.)

The barangay captain is also being investigated if he’s involved in the said illegal activity.
