15 bus units to operate the Butuan-Las Nieves route
15 bus units are set to start operating the Butuan City to Las Nieves, Agusan del Norte and vice versa route after the launching of modernized units of Bachelor Express was held today, July 29, attended by the LTFRB, DORT, and other concerned government agencies.
In an interview with Las Nieves Mayor Avelina Rosales, she said that the new implementation of modern public utilities is a big help to the residents since at the moment there are only two jeeps traveling in the province every day and most of the residents have to ride a canoe to cross the Agusan river going to Butuan.
The 15 bus units will give access to the residents for easier and comfortable travel.
In an interview with LTFRB Chairman Martin B. Delgra III, he said:
“Pero ang problema gyud nila, sigun sa inyong nadungog na gaina. Pait ang Las Nieves pag-abot sa public transport. Usa, duha ka byahe sa isa ka adlaw ug dili nimo maabtan, muhulat na sad ka ug usa ka adlaw. Karon dili naka maghulat ug isa ka adlaw.”
(However, as you may have heard, the real issue in Las Nieves is the difficulty in obtaining public transportation. There are only one or two trips per day, and if you miss one, you must wait until the next day. Now, you no longer have to wait for a day.)
The said implementation is still part of the PUV Modernization Program.
